THIS WAS A SCORE FROM THE 2004 ETF CONVENTION. COLLECTORS CALL THESE THE "BUGEYE" DUE TO THE PLACEMENT OF THE KNOBS. THERE ARE SEVERAL VARIATIONS OF THIS. BOTH THE SELLER AND I HAD TUBES LIGHTING UP, AND NO B+ ON SOFT START.
MINOR ISSUES I HAD WAS A DEAD DOUBLER CAP, AND A FROZEN VERTICAL HOLD CONTROL. BOTH WERE EASY FIXES. I DID NOT RESTUFF THE CANS. REMOVING THE SELENIUM RECTIFIERS GAVE ME THE ROOM FOR MANY OF THE LYTICS. THE REST WERE HIDDEN ON THE FRONT OF THE CHASSIS.
THESE ARE HOT CHASSIS SETS. THIS USES THE SWITCHED NEUTRAL. TO MAKE THINGS WORSE, THEY PUT A LOW VOLTAGE RESISTOR SHUNTED WITH A CAP FROM CHASSIS TO CABINET. I DID THE FIX BEFORE I EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT THE SOFT START.
THE RECAP WAS UNEVENTFUL. I HAD FOUND SOME CAPS ADDED THAT WERE NOT SHOWN IN THE PRINT. I RETURNED THIS TO PRINT SPECS. ALL PAPER AND BUMBLEBEE CAPS WERE REPLACED.
THEY USED A FUSISTOR IN THE POWER SUPPLY. I REPLACED IT WITH A REGULAR FUSE.
NOW, SOME PICS.
THE LYTIC SEEN ABOVE THE CRT WAS ADDED TO THE DOUBLER CIRCUIT. IT WAS THE WRONG VALUE, SO IT WAS REMOVED.
